Not sure what to say?

Miss you, buddy.

Unfortunately, we often don't appreciate how good a friend is until they are gone. To his family, I would like to say that Steve was such a special person. I think of him often and miss him. He was my financial advisor, and truly always had my best interests regardless of his. I miss his wisdom, his great sense of humor, his intelligence and his support. Ellen, I think of you all often, and I hope with all my heart you all are doing well. Thanks for sharing Steve with me. I just wanted to...

Although we lost touch over the years, I am very sad to learn that Steve has passed on. I know he loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed.

Hearing Steve's name brought up colorful memories of this very big, passionate, loving man. I remember his unconstrained laughter and his delight in simply everything- especially his family. While it's been a long time since I've seen Steve, he touched my life with his delicious sense of humor and love of life. Ellen, Drew and Sara - please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you walk down this very difficult stretch of road.
Much love, Lisa Wheeler Neely

I had just heard this evening of Steve's untimely death. I am so sorry for your loss. He and his father were great friends of my family, The Ennis's. He will certainly be missed. All our love goes out to you all.

I'm speechless. I own the Sweet Pea Cafe & Steve helped me out so, so much. I thought he'd be an extraordinary regular for decades. I won't forget his unique, friendly and gentle spirit.

To Steve's family---I am very sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I last saw him in October when we spent three days driving around southern Ohio. He loved that rural area, and he was great fun to be with, as always, and spoke often of his children, whom he loved dearly. He had a very rich and full life, and I will miss him.

Steve was my dear lifelong friend. My anchor in Akron. He was always there to help me navigate through the hard bits of returning home. He once gave me the book "The Giving Tree". I re-read it last night in tears. Throughout Steve's life, every day, he showed each and every person he came into contact with what that book really meant. His friendly, generous and kind heart seeped out of every one of his pores - he couldn't have stopped it if he tried. Steve was always questioning, seeking...

My condolences to the Wise family, may you find comfort in this time of sadness
