Not sure what to say?

I lived next door to Stewart when I was a teenager growing up in Miami Beach. As an aspiring writer, I viewed him as my mentor. He was so important for me in setting my sites on writing and in setting high standards for myself. I miss him always.

I was a colleague of Stewart's throughout his entire career at Miami-Dade and we both attended the U of I (Though we didn't know each other then, it's sort of a bond). I first met Stew in high school about 1955. We became friends and kept in touch over the years. It was a case of opposites being good friends. I recall that one of his novels was stolen and never recovered. There is also a series of New Years tapes that Stew would record for posterity. I will miss him dearly. Roy Buswell

I was saddened to learn of Stewart's passing, the more so because I never really got to know him when he was here in Miami.

As a former colleague of Stewart's at Miami Dade Community College, I would like to wish my condolences to the family.
