Not sure what to say?

Just on a whim, I decided to look up my favorite music teacher of all times when I went to Paul Revere in the late 60's. So sad to learn of the news of his passing. I fondly remember his classes...there was no instrument he couldn't play and successfully instruct a bunch of middle school kids on...I started playing the flute in his beginning orchestra class and looked forward to it every day!! He had the best and most cheerful attitude. I only wish I thought to reach out to him to thank him a...

Wow it is 2024 and I'm just learning of the sad loss of my Music teacher @ Paul Revere in the early 90's. He will definitely be remembered and sincere condolences to the family. He was an awesome teacher.

Stewart was an inspiration to the hundreds of my music students that heard his presentations for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. His passion and deep understanding of the music brought life to his presentations. He always wanted our students to wave to him when we arrived at the concerts, which they always did. Thank you, Stew for all that you have done for so many...

My prayers and condolences go out to the family during this time. Mr Rupp was a big part of my still evolving journey through music from Beginning Winds to Stage Band and everything in between, encouraging me to become a multi-instrument musician. He's the only person I knew who could both whistle and hum a tune in two-part harmony! May God keep you and continue to pour out His blessings on your family!

Thank you Mr. Rupp for giving us the love of music at Revere Jr High. I still remember that first day in Beginning Winds when you said I could never play the flute and I proved you wrong. ;) I have thought of you fondly through the years. Thanks for providing this enrichment in my life that I have passed along to my kids!

Mr Rupp was one of those teachers with a knack for planting the music dream. So many of us from Paul Revere went on to careers in music. Thank you Mr. Rupp for being an inspiring educator. You made a difference in so many lives. My deep condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences and sympathy to the family. Stewart will be sorely missed by my colleagues (& his multitude of students) at the LACO Meet the Music concerts.

Some of the best memories I have are of the orchestra/band room at Revere when Stewart was my teacher there in the '70's. His energy and enthusiasm never flagged, and though he might get annoyed with us when we pushed him too far, he kept discipline with kindness and humor. His love of music influenced everyone in the class, not only those of us who became professional musicians. There were the daily Mozart stories and the tricks he came up with for playing correctly that I still think of...

Stu Rupp graciously allowed me to join his middle school orchestra some 30 years ago, so I could move from individual cello lessons to, at some point, playing with a community orchestra. The end-of-year treat was playing for my daughter's Paul Revere graduation ceremony. Thank you once again, Stu!! Elreen Bower, Pacific Palisades
