Departed this life, January 31, 2006, Officer Stinel E. Johnson Sr. of Glen Allen, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Wade Johnson Jr.; godparents Virginia and Eddie Radden. He is survived by his loving wife, Loreal H. Johnson; two sons, Stinel E. Johnson Jr. and Stanley Henley; mother, Nancy Bryant (Robert); three sisters, Ruth Patterson, Brenda Lanier (Robert), and Yvette Johnson; one brother, Wade Johnson III (Geraldine); one niece, Tammy Becoat; three nephews, Kevin and Robert Lanier and Keith Patterson; cousins, mother-in-law, Berniece Henley; father-in-law, Ray Henley; four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at St. Peter's Baptist Church, 2040 Mountain Road, Glen Allen. Dr. Kirkland Walton (pastor) officiating. In lieu of flowers and food gifts, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the St. Peter Baptist Church.

It was just like yesterday. I listened to you sing along with to the gospel song "Stand." I giggled as you struggled to hit the right notes. I laughed in the joy of sharing that moment in time with you. Whenever I hear that song, I think of you. It's your song. When there's nothing left to do, stand.
