Mrs. Barefield, I served with Stone on the Beauvoir board and finance committee as well as on the Mississippi Civil War Battlefield Commission. Stone was a man of integrity and a good friend. Those whose path crossed Stone's are better people for having known him.

You know how I loved Stone. He was my best friend. I miss him already. I miss seeing you too and will always cherish my friendship and relationship with the two of you.
He was a great man and I respected him above all others.
