Not sure what to say?

Dear Conklin family, I just read the editorial in today's paper (the Wichita Eagle) and didn't know about Joe's death. Was so sorry to hear about that, as we, too, enjoyed the wonderful commercials...because he was "real". We have traveled to Hutch twice and bought our new Hondas. The service of a vehicle loan when ours were in getting fixed was such a blessing, and we were treated as we like to treat others-with good service (we sell real estate with Plaza in west Wichita)! I'm sure it was...

I never knew him, but always felt like he was someone I would like. I loved his commericials. God Bless the family, Sorry for you loss!

I never knew Mr. Conklin but I've bought two cars from his dealership over the years. I always felt like I was treated with integrity. I know that doesn't just happen unless someone at the top insists on high standards. My sincerest sympathies to Mr. Conklin's family and co-workers. God bless.

It has been many years since I have seen Stuart but remember happy times as a fellow member of his Sigma Chi pledge class. My sympathy to the family.

We at HIEB Constructors, L.L.C. want to offer our sincere sympathy in your loss.

STU, STEVE, & SCOTT, I'M TRULY SORRY TO HERE ABOUT YOUR FATHER. FROM OUR DAYS AT SAE & KU, I KNOW WHAT HE MEANT TO THE THREE OF YOU AND HOW PROUD YOU ALWAYS WERE OF HIM. I'M SURE THAT FEELING HAS CONTINUED & FEELINGS HE HAD TOWARD HIS FINE FAMILY WERE THE SAME. I KNOW HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE YOUR "HERO." FRATERNALY YOURS. "ZIGGY"

I grew up in Hutchinson as a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and knew the Conklin family through church and the YMCA. I worked in high school as a lifeguard at the Y and frequently would visit with Joe when he would come in to swim. I babysat several of his grandchildren and was honored to have Joe and Mary Ann attend our wedding. My sympathies are with the family.

I never met Joe or bought a car from him (or anyone else for that matter), but I loved those commercials. It was so nice to see someone with a sense of humor. Other car dealers have such loud and abrasive commercials. Had I bought a new car, I would have contacted Joe. I didn't know him, but I will miss his presence on my TV and radio.

I went to school with all of the boys. I bought my fist car from Mr. Conklin's father. They family has been a staple in Hutchinson for many years. He will be missed.
