Read MoreMy condolences to the Eck family. Stuart was a very caring person who loved his friends and was always willing to help in anyway he could. Stuart hired me to help build his boats in the early 70's. He didn't need to, but he knew I could use the money. I spend a lot of time with Stuart on Sunset Beach and at the VIP. I will always have good memories of him. He was one of a kind.

As a kid growing up in Gulfport in the 1950s, Stu Eck was a good friend. If there was a sailboat to repair, he did it best. Three 12-foot "Skeeters" were built at Gulfport Yacht Club for the juniors. Stuart's was by far the best one built. I regret not looking him up and saying Hello over the past 50+ years.
