Ferrell, Stuart R., 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Stuart was born in Wichita on November 30, 1952. He grew up in Haysville where he lived until enlisting in the US Navy. He served his country from 1971 to 1975. He met his wife Dana in 1975 and they were married on June 11, 1977. Stuart and Dana have five children, a son and four daughters. He was a US Post Office employee for 29 years until he answered God's call to go into full-time ministry with Crown Financial Ministries. He served as the area director for 10 years, and most recently served as the Development Director at the Union Rescue Mission since 2011. Stu loved his family and his community because he loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He was deeply involved with his church family at First Evangelical Free Church. Stu enjoyed spending time playing disc golf, skiing, cheering on the Denver Broncos, managing his fantasy football team, cycling, and the quest for the perfect burger. Stuart was preceded in death by his father, Max Ferrell and brother, David Ferrell. He is survived by his wife, Dana Ferrell; children, Kacie and David Edleston, Jonathan and Kristen Ferrell, Corrie Ferrell, Amy Ferrell, and Molly and Tyler Brickley; mother, Dyca Ferrell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Richard Gertz, Ginger and Butch Charles and Janet and Kevin Slay; and grandchildren, Henry, Norah, Annie, Max, Clara and Ellie. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 28th, at First Evangelical Free Church. A memorial has been established with Union Rescue Mission.

Not sure what to say?

He was the best grandpa, i miss him so much. I wish he was here

I was shocked to learn of Stu's passing when I tried to notify him of the recent passing of Kathryn Baxter, the wife of his supervisor and good friend, Roger, when they served with me on active duty with the Navy Reserve in Germany in 1972-73. I had wondered why I had not heard from Stu since our visit when I passed through Wichita in July of 2014. Even at long distance, he was one of my closest friends and a spiritual brother. I hope Dana and the family are doing well. Happy trails until...

Dana and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. We are truly saddened by this news. You and Stuart were always so kind to us.

Dana and Family,
Just heard about Stu on Bott radio 94.3 FM on the "Money Wise" radio program. Stu will be geatly missed. So thankful to you both for your wonderful ministry with Crown Financial Ministries. I was a volunteer budget coach. May God provide for and encourage you daily. I will be honored to contribute to Union Rescue Mission. Hugs...

Dana know that we are praying for you always. Love you and if you need anything, please don't hesitate to call or email. James & Patty Walden

I worked with Stuart for the last several years when he was at the mission. We helped him set up the ability for donors to give to the mission and I would see him once a year at a conference. Even though I only knew him for a short time and only saw him once a year I was taken at what a humble, caring man of God he was and there was a kindness about him that was unforgettable. I will miss him but am thankful for his life, the impact he had and know he is now smiling in God's glorious presence!

Dana and Family - our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in cherished memories.

Dana, you and the family remain in our prayers as you rejoice and grieve. Stu was an inspiration to me and so many others. He was sincere, true, genuine, joyful, caring. I cherish our email exchange earlier in July. He lifted my spirits. We wish we could have been with you. Jeff, Janeal and Susan have given beautiful reports of the services. Stu is home. He is living that "I can only imagine" moment.. We will join him one day soon. Until then, may God comfort you and keep you our sister...

My wonderful cousin Stuart. Also big brother when I needed him. He always had time for me and that smile that will live in my heart. So lucky and proud to be a part of the Ferrell family. My love to all. I will see you again Stu-art and Max and David and Daddy.
