Dr Levin..."Stu", my boss, my leader, my friend. There are not enough superlatives to describe him and the respect I had for him. He gave me a respect for all of the physicians in the Department of Internal Medicine. He had wisdom whether with patients, students, residents, fellows, faculty and administration. Dr Levin was such a kind, compassionate and giving man. He guided me through my medical career and I am eternally grateful to have been part of his family of residents and he was genuinely a father figure to me and I hope to continue my journey that he set forth for me.

Stuart was an amazing and extremely special man! Anyone who met him or knew him would thoroughly agree with me. He was intense, smart as a whip, funny, a great laugher, and most of all very compassionate! From star gazing with him on the shores of southwest Michigan to seeing him at the Symphony it was always a feeling of genuine warmth and joy! Rest in peace dear doctor. You shared every type of healing a human being can while you were here.....from lots of laughter to medicine. Thank you...

Dr. Levin saved my husbands life. He stepped in after a close family friend of his son Dr. Danny Levin reached out to Danny to see if he could ask his dad to help. Dr. Levin immediately conducted the symphony of doctors he put on my husbands case, he gave each tasks to lead him to what I think he knew all along...a rare form of lymphoma. I stood next to him in the hallway outside my husbands room and just watched him in total admiration and with undying respect. A man we had never met,...

Dr. Levin was my mentor and a father away from home. He made sure I was always supported and basically made me the physician I am today. He taught me what it means to be humble. He was inclusive and embraced diversity and justice not to meet any agenda, but because it was who he was. He will leave a huge hole in my heart, but I will continue to fill it with the fond memories of him as I attempt to serve the next generation of physicians

He was the best teacher I had while in med school at Rush (1983-1987). He gave me my first introduction to HIV/AIDS and started me on the path to my career as an HIV specialist.
