Found out when I got back to NZ last week that Stu had passed away. Condolences to Lydia and his family. Was in the Pakuranga PlaceMakers store yesterday and spoke to the lady on special orders and we both remembered Stu. She told me he had worked in that store early on in his career! Always greeted each other by by booming out our surnames across the room then would settle into a great chat about the work at hand and life in general. A genuine bloke who will be missed in the data and...

Stuart was an awesome human being to work with, to laugh with and to struggle with when work was a bit rough. Always appreciated his candour and wit when approaching problems, thank you Stu for all the encouragement.

We seconded him & his data skills for a period into Category to support several of the Strategic Project Streams including the massive project realigning retail prices. Stewey´s contribution was invaluable to me. But keeping him focussed was a bit like herding...

His assistance extracting Category Data for me post ACE implementation & his absolute patience trying to teach me pivot tables was invaluable. His multi-tasking left a bit to be desired as I often found trying to keep him focused on the task at hand was like herding cats. But I learnt quickly, his difficulty focusing was due to trying to help everyone at once (although sometimes it was because he was playing space...

Stu. I´ll always remember your warm welcome and smile when I first started at PlaceMakers some 27 yrs ago - and we continued to stay in touch at different times over that period. You always had a joke to tell, some ribbing to dish out and made time to connect. Will miss your warmth, smile and big heart. Arohatinonui Kara and Swaz x
