Not sure what to say?

I have been going through old photos and am sending some in to get scanned. I included one of Mr. Morash from 1973. I just googled his name, and am so sorry to read that he has passed away. He had a huge influence on me and so many other students. I pursued a career in music and credit him for early inspiration. We loved him at Timberlane and losing him there was such a tragedy. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Morash's name came to mind this week, so I looked him up. I'm sorry to learn of his passing. If the family still receives notes from here, I just want you to know how much I appreciated him as my band director at Winchester High School (MA) during my junior and senior years. A personal story: Twice a year, we had to "audition", for placement in our seats in the band. I was a shy 11th grader who achieved first flute, first chair. Every semester I had to "defend" my position, with a new...

Dear Shirley, You and your family are in my prayers. I write to express my sincere sympathy on the recent passing of Stuart; your loving husband; a wonderful father and grandfather; and a true "music man". May you find strength, comfort and peace in the loving memories of all of the special and happy moments you both shared.
Thank you for sharing your husband with "the band", and so many of us...students at Lebanon Jr/Senior high school. From seventh grade until graduation, Mr...

Shirley, Laura, Cathy, Andy, Scott and all the rest of your dear family,
I have so many happy memories over the last 50 years of times spent with your family. From my first trip to Lebanon with Mark to meet the family, when the twins were still toddlers, to Shannah's wedding last year, every occasion was joy-filled. Stuart lived his life well. You, his children and your families are testament to his love and high standards. The many comments from former students are testament to his...

I was privileged to be under the directorship of Mr. Morash in dance band, chorus and marching/concert band at Lebanon High School some 45 years ago. Mr. Morash had much to do with my decision to pursue a career in music education. He was a "gentle giant" and an awe-inspiring teacher who helped me find my way to becoming a music educator. I am ever grateful that he influenced my life's path.

I just wrote a message for the guest book of Stuart Morash and forgot to sign it.

I really want to sign it. Thank you.

Mr. Morash taught us character. he was a man of honor, integrity and self discipline who happened to also be extremely talented. he was a man of his word. He greatly touched the lives of all of us in the Lebanon Band.
He was an amazing human being and we have just wonderful memories of him.

Today, on the 50th Anniversary celebration of the March on Washington, I remember our March on Washington at the Inauguration of President Kennedy. We played Hold That Tiger in front of The President while Mr. Morash gave President Kennedy his finest salute.

I remember the legacy of our Leader, Mr. Stuart Morash, who, like Dr. King, also left a legacy of bringing discordant people together through a common cause – Music: Through the formation of the All Lebanon Band, he brought...

Mr. Morash brought out the best in each of us, his students, not only teaching us about the world of music but instilling in us morality, responsibility, compassion, respect and patience which he taught by example. He is remembered as my most outstanding teacher. Donna Jenks Wright, Class of 62 LHS.
