To the Nelson Family,
Stuart and my Cousin Ed Dearborn served on the USS Howard W. Gilmore together. Ed always called him Uncle Mike and told the story when they brought Stuart's boat up the inland waterways from Charleston SC to CT. I met Stuart on a dependant’s cruse on the Gilmore when I was around 8 or so and spoke to him a few times when he lived in CT. Stuart cared about his shipmates and he will be missed.
