Stuart SCHWARZ Obituary

SCHWARZ, Stuart, Sr. 7/8/1929 - 2/19/2018 Born in New York City into the 'Great Depression' and sent to live in Germany with his grandmother as a young child. As the war broke out, he was forced into Hitler's Youth Regime. After the war, he returned to the US at 17. In college at 22, he was drafted into the US Army and proudly served. Worked at Sam Levitz for 30 years and raised Koi fish in his huge pond. Known as Papa by his grand and great grand kids, who he loved to read to. Survived by his wife,, Wynema of 62 years; and his five children, Stuart Jr., Tyron, Sonja (Wendall) Babb, Sandy (Royd) Ellingsberg, Heidi (John) Figueroa; and brother, Jerry (Linda) Schwartz. Preceded in death by his brother, Perry, mother, Margaret and grandson, Brett. Service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY & CEMETERY on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

I did not know Stuart but wish I had. He certainly had an unusual story and I hope you his family have put it in writing for future generations. So many of the stories of the past are being lost and it's sad as often the past needs to be looked at to help give us better direction in our future. God bless you in your loss.
