Most of my high school teachers from Bear Creek have blurred into a distant memory, but Sue Berger remains in sharp focus. She held the bar high, was an outstanding teacher and encouraged me to pursue a career in science when that was not the "thing that girls did" in the mid-70's. She did influence my career path into health care. I regret that I did not stay in touch. RIP Sue, you left a legacy.

Ms. Berger was the best teacher I ever had. She made science fun and was a huge reason I pursued my degree in Chemistry. I loved being her "Student Assistant" my senior year at Bear Creek. I will never forget Ms. Berger, and I will always be grateful that I got to have her as a teacher. She was the first teacher I had who was as excited about science as I was. She could be fierce, but she had a caring side and the ability cut through the trivia and get to the heart of things. I wish I had kept in closer touch, but I am grateful that she inspired me to keep looking at the world and trying to figure out why things happen. The world was better place with "Aunt Sue!"

Sue was always part of our lives in Evergreen Highlands. She brightened up our lives, gave us good advice, gave us support and then later our daughters would
turn to her for advice and support. Finally, our grandson arrived on her doorstep---she took him in and got him
going in the right direction.
Dear Sue, we will miss you.
