Sue (Fugate) Dixon, 88 of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on April 2, 2024.  She was born on March 25, 1936, in Gate City, VA, to the late H.O. Fugate and Nell Mae (Lawson) Fugate.  She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Richard Dixon, of Nickelsville, and sister of Emory Fugate.


Sue was a dedicated employee, retiring from the City of Winchester, VA after 27 years of service.  She attended Shoemaker High School in Gate City, VA, and furthered her education at Whitney’s School of Business.


A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia, Sue found solace and community in her faith.  She enjoyed sewing, homemaking, cooking, reading, and cherished moments spent visiting with her family.


Sue will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters, Deanna Harding (Greg) and Alisa Burress (Randy); grandchildren, Lindy Collins, Amy Matera (Bryant), Levi Burress, Tyler Blankinship, Shane Burress, and Lauren Burress; great-grandson, Benny Collins, sister-in-law, June Whetsel (Charles) and Audrae Fugate (Emory); nieces, nephews, and extended family members.


A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Nickelsville Cemetery.  Those attending are requested to meet at Colonial Funeral Home, in Weber City, Virginia, at 12:30 to drive together.  Details for the reception following the service will be announced.

Graveside service and reception will be on Saturday, April 6th at 1 pm at Nickelsville Cemetary. Reception will follow at Nickelsville United Methodist Church. Those who would like to proceed together to the grave site are asked to meet at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City by 12:30 on Saturday.
