Not sure what to say?

I was an HPE student of hers but was not very talented in sports. I was talented in gymnastics and dance. She left me in charge of this class one time as she was gone for a week. I remember feeling very honored by her for getting to do this. I went on to teach 5 classes of dance at Austin High school in El Paso, Texas from 1970-72.

We all miss you Sue, all your friends from Nashville.
Never watch a basketball game without thinking of you. Love you dearly.

Sue Gunter was one of the most influencial coaches that I had ever met or had the opportunity to learn from. I got into education and Physical Education for the same reason as she did. I strive daily to be the type of person she would be proud of. I am sorry I am just writing but did not hear of her passing until tonight. I watched LSU basketball hoping they would win the title for you that you strived for your teams to achieve. No title can hold a candle to the hope and education you...

She will be missed because she was a very good coach and she new the game so well. From UNCG Spartans she will be missed. RIP

The year and place: 1962 at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. Sue Gunter was a young professor, just starting out. The course was Adapted Physical Education. Coach Gunter made the class fun and enjoyable. Even that many years ago, we students sensed her greatness! This was one amazing lady who changed lives! Rest in peace, Coach!

Coach Gunter was a rare breed indeed. She became one with her team and made it a joy to watch the game. I will surely miss her.
