Not sure what to say?

I noticed today that we've just passed the anniversary of Mrs. Shannon's passing, and I realized that I had never added my words here. I hope my memories of her will comfort.

Mrs. Shannon was always on the cutting edge of everything. I remember playing music theory games on her Apple ][e. She also had a very high-end Kurzweil keyboard with a vast number of clicky buttons that fascinated me, that I never got enough time to play on. I am absolutely convinced that it was Sue's work with...

Mrs. Shannon, without you I would not be the musician I am today. Your grace, patience, understanding, and unrelenting enthusiasm made me continue on in my career. You were an understanding friend and a wise sage. You changed my life and I am forever grateful. Love, Melissa Orquiza

Our family will always have the fondest memories of you. You taught piano lessons to our three children for over 10 years. You were always firm but loving, and expected them to explore all their potentials. Your patience seemed endless to their mistakes.

We will never forget all those summer piano competitions all over CA which we always attended. Our children looked forward to it as the school year ended, and it took care of our summer vacations. I remember the look of pride in your...

For more than nine years, Mrs. Shannon taught me more than just the piano. I certainly was not one of her most gifted students! But working with my limitations behind the piano, she helped me to use music as a tool to connect with others and to understand the world through the composers and instruments of the past. More importantly, she helped me dream about becoming the person I wanted to become. I will be playing a Chopin prelude in your memory, Mrs Shannon.

May God continue to keep and bless the entire Shannon family during this difficult time period. Mrs. Shannon was a DYNAMIC woman who had amazing talents and a huge heart. She taught my siblings and I piano lessons for 22 years! Rain, sleet or shine--Mrs. Shannon had the highest expectations of us, her students, and expected us to be ready for our weekly lesson at her home and studio. She pushed us to be our best, perform our best, and reach for the stars....ALWAYS! Being great was the only...
