SUE SHERMAN Obituary

SHERMAN, Sue T. (Talberth) Of Newton Lower Falls, passed away at the age of 102 on April 6th. Sue's family was the most important part of her life. She was the wife of the late Murray Sherman and the youngest sister of the late Irving, Jack, Edward and Ralph Talberth as well as Florence Caplan and Ethel Goldman. She was also the devoted and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews: Martin Goldman and his wife Dorothy Klepper of Bedford, Joni Goldman of Newton, Henry Goldman and his wife Susan Opdyke of Newton, Jay Goldman of Newton, Henry Talberth and his wife Stacia of Somerville, Irving Caplan and his wife Harriet of West Palm Beach FL, Kenneth Talberth of New York City, Gertrude Moshkovitz and her husband Herb of Randolph, Abbe Hasenbush and her husband Joe of Brookline, Alan Levine and his wife Laurie Siegel of Washington, D.C., Benjamin Levine and his wife Sharon of Glendale AZ, Robert Infeld and his wife Kathy of Phoenix AZ, Betty Infeld of Jacksonville FL, Bruce Sherman and his wife Anita of Salt Lake City UT, and Michael Goldsmith and his wife Norma of Teaneck, NJ. Sue is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her. Everyone who knew Sue knew her sweetness, how much she cared for others and her zest for life. Her many interests included painting and needle pointing: her miniature oriental rugs in needle point were works of art which are widely cherished and admired. Sue was an inveterate traveler, exploring many countries and experiencing many adventures from an African Safari to climbing the Great Wall of China. She made life-long friends from every country to which she traveled. When living in Florida, Sue was a volunteer aide in the elementary schools. She also spent many hours volunteering at the Newton office of the Arthritis Foundation for which she received many accolades. A Memorial Service for Sue will be scheduled for early summer. Donations in her memory may be made to O.R.T., 75 Maiden Lane, N.Y.,N.Y.10038 Stanetsky Memorial Chapel www.stanetsky.com 617-232-9300

Suzie and Murray lived across the street from me for over 40 years. She made my (Catholic) mom and dad matzoh ball soup (hope I got hte spelling right!) and joined us in celebrating evey holiday that I can remember. We called them Uncle Murray and Aunt Suzie . . . She would have been 103 yesterday. I will miss her always.

Sue was a wonderful neighbor and friend ... I always left our visits feeling uplifted by her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, candor, and love for her extended family. I'll miss seeing Sue's smiling face and her cherished green fuzzy blanket.
