Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home Obituary

Sue Carroll Meriwether Sutton, 81, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at her home in Lawrenceburg, KY. She was born on December 5, 1943, in Anderson County, KY, to the late Schelma Meriwether and Nora Belle Hostetter Meriwether.

Sue was a dedicated member of Alton Christian Church in Lawrenceburg, where she formerly taught Sunday School and enjoyed many outings with the Rough & Ready Seniors group. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life and reflected in the love and kindness she showed to others. She retired as a cashier and clerk with Glenn Toyota in Frankfort and remained active in her community through the Alton Ruritan Club. In earlier years, she was involved with Anderson County Parks & Recreation.

Deeply devoted to her family, Sue was always present, encouraging, and ready to help in any way she could. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and found great joy in celebrating all things Christmas.

Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Sutton Hubert of Frankfort, KY, and Mona Sutton (husband Ilidio Araujo) of Lawrenceburg, KY; three grandchildren, Davis Sutton of Lawrenceburg, KY, Monica Flora of Waddy, KY, and Jacob Flora (wife Kat) of Ashland, KY; and five great-grandchildren, Harlan, Brentley, Troy, Mila, and Ava.

Sue chose cremation, and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, KY, with Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Memorial contributions in memory of Sue Sutton are suggested to Alton Christian Church, 1686 Old Frankfort Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.ritchieandpeach.com.
