Sue Wingerter

I´m so sad to hear of the unexpected death of our dear Sue. She trained me as a nurse. We had so many great conversations, laughs and nicu parties. She´s part of my journey in life as a nurse. My heart goes out to your family

I was very saddened to hear of Sue's passing. I knew her for many years as an excellent Neonatal ICU RN at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She possessed a caring and professionalism that was apparent with every infant she cared for. She provided great support to parents during a very stressful time, which made it possible for them to maintain great trust in their infant's survival. She was an integral part of the excellent nursing team working together in SCVMC's Level III Tertiary NICU!

Miss Buchan ( Suellen's teacher name) was my Spanish teacher senior year (1965). I had a major crush on her. Such a nice person. I got all "A's" that year. Via con Dios, Miss Buchan. Rick Eckenfels

I didn't know Sue but what an incredible life story. It was very unusual to make such a big career change in the era in which she did it. Also, I started working in healthcare in the early 70s and I'm thinking neonatal care was an emerging specialty when she began to focus on that area of care. Such an adventurous spirit!
