Suellen was one of the most unselfish, focused, kind, sensible and dignified people I have had the priviledge to work with. She quietly helped me help animals for the past ten years. She will be sorely missed in the "animal community". My sincere sympathies to her family.

Having volunteered at Standish H.S. for nine years, I knew Suellen fairly well; She was marvelous with the cats and kittens and is sorely missed; the "kids" over the Rainbow Bridge, however, rejoice!

I had the great pleasure of knowing Suellen in her guise as "kitty friend extraordinaire". I occasionally transported cats from Kingston Animal Control to Standish to be spayed/neutered on the ARL Spay Waggin'. Suellen always met us with her beautiful smile, greeting the cats first and then me, as was fitting. It was an honor to know her. Filling her shoes is going to be very difficult. I hope her family and friends will accept my most sincere condolences.

I was sorry to hear the news about Suellen...she was a friend not only to the animals in this area..but also to many people (like myself) who she inspired and encouraged every day. As a former volunteer at the shelter I was amazed by Sue Ellen's caring for all the animals.

She saved my cat Samantha and brought her to Standish when her owner passed away suddenly, My cat was already 8 yrs old and at the pound and if not for SuEllen would have been put to sleep. Samantha stayed at Standish for over 1 year until I met and adopted this wonderful cat.

This was 9 years ago and Samantha is still with me.

Every year when I still lived in Braintree I would bring Samantha to VCA in Weymouth for her check-up on SuelEllen's day to work so she could see the kittie that she saved and see how well she was doing.

Whne my sister was looking to start a fund to help the animals in need I directed her to Standish because of the wonderful devotion of SueEllen and the other volunteers and the Gizmo fund was started.

Sue Ellen will be sadly missed by family, friends and all the wonderful animals.
