SUMNER FELDBERG

So sad to learn of Mr. Sumner's passing. He was quite the man; gentle, polite, inquisitive, and always trying to learn. His contributions to American retailing are second to none and worthy of praise but what I'll remember equally as much was the joy of running in to Mr. Sumner in a TJX corporate headquarters hallway, his smile and his willingness to stop and chat with me. He was a true gentleman. My condolences to his entire family.
