I first met Ms. Marland (that's what we called her) when I was about 16 or 17 years old. She was my junior English teacher at Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas. She's the reason I decided to go to Tulane University, and through the years, even now, I think of "Ms. Marland" as one of the best teachers I ever had. She had a terrific sense of humor! I hope her family sees this message and that they know how much her students at Kimball High loved her.
