Not sure what to say?

I joined Egypt Valley as a young woman in 1987. When I received news of Susan's death, I vaguely recalled her and wanted to learn more about her life, so I read her obituary. What a remarkable woman! I am so impressed about her life history, and her continued pursuit of higher education. I can hardly imagine the obstacles she overcame in her professional career. I just wanted the family to know that even in death, she made an impact. She obviously is someone who was well-loved and...

My sincere condolences on the loss. I first met Sue in 1977 when she commissioned me to do artwork and signage for the new Kentwood Library. I appreciated her management style and her love of professional librarianship. Jump forward to 1987, when she was then part of the historical commission in EGR and the establishment of new City of East Grand Rapids History Room located within the EGR Library. I was charged to do the displays again in '87 and took over management of the collection in...

Mrs Conklin was a very impressive classy lady who impresse and encoiraged me to attend and graduate from Smith Colleg. I remember her fondly and will never forget the impression she made on me, the kindness she always showed me at local Smith Clllege functions. God speed Mrs Conklin and thank you

So sorry to hear of Sue´s passing. My parents were very fond of both of your parents and my mom always said, "Sue Conklin is so smart!" I know she was a proud Smithie, and my mom said Sue had "been in the CIA" - what an interesting life she had. Please pass on my condolences to your father.

My condolences to your family for your loss.

My condolences to you....

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Sue was my supervisor when I started working at the Kentwood Library as the children´s librarian in the early 1980s. She was a total professional and made me feel like I could come to her with any problems, personal or work-related. I was commuting from Muskegon and she took me apartment hunting. Find a boss who does that for you today! She had a great sense of humor, was smart as a whip and I truly admired her. My condolences to the family.
