Mrs. Donahoe, as she was always known to me, was a lady who I greatly respected and admired. My parents Ted and Ellabelle Joplin considered her to be their friend and the Donahoe children were among my favorite playmates when we all lived on Terrace Road in Des Moines. Aunt Sue was never a Susan in my memory. What I will always remember is her sing song British voice accompanied with a sense of humor that was as genuine as her beautiful character.
