Not sure what to say?

I was a student of Sue's many years ago, and to be fair I was probably a brat at the time. However, I still remember Sue's passion, and her telling me (as an 18 year old) that you are never too old to be read a quality picture book. This stuck with me, and has stood the test of time, with my own children, and all those I have taught. Thank you Sue, for all your simple words contributed to my life, my children's and those have taught, a huge legacy. My own collection of picture books is now...

I was a student of Sue's through the University of Waikato 15 or so years ago and well remember her passion and dedication to her work with children who have reading difficulties, a passion that was contagious! I feel privileged to have been taught by her, even briefly, and feel so sad to hear of her passing.

Dear Wynne and family, Belated condolences to you all on Sue's recent passing. Your beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother was a wonderfully warm, generous and capable woman who will be sorely missed by you and by so many friends, colleagues and others in the community. As you walk through the valley of shadows may you be upheld and sustained by so many wonderful memories, the love and support of family and friends, and by your faith, hope and love. With very best wishes,...

Wynne and family - just a short note to acknowledge Susan's passing. I know there will be a big whole in your lives. Fill it with memories and special times, and rather than learning to live with the loss, learn to live with the legacy of love she left for you. Wynne, I know if Geoff was here he would to give you a man-hug. Kind regards Raewyn Kirkman (Tizard)

I met Sue at Waikato University because she led my literacy papers for the primary school teaching degree. When I was near failing out of university, Sue became my final chance literacy lecturer in November 2022. She taught me for a week and I got to know her style more. I knew her as a lecturer and she helped pass my final chance and now I am about to head to graduation in April 2023. My condolences go to her family as well as my sympathies. She will be missed and I know her students would...

I met Sue at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington. We both pledged Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and became instant friends. I have such wonderful memories of our time together- fun filled weekends in college, studying abroad in London, being her maid of honor when she married Wynne, the love of her life. We kept in touch throughout the years, and I know how proud she was of her children and grandchildren and the special bond she had with her mom. My deepest sympathies to her...

My deepest sympathy to Win and family. I have lovely memories of Sue from my time in NZ at St. Andrews church. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. Bernice Smart

So incredibly sorry to hear of your loss. My heartfelt love and sincere sympathy to you and your family.

We are heartbroken by Susan's passing and it is wonderful to read these wonderful memorials from the U.S. and New Zealand. Sue was intelligent, fun, beautiful and dedicated to her family. Whether it was growing up with her in Parkrose or hiking with her in New Zealand, it was a joy to be with her and the rest of the Dymock family, and of course Aunt Bette. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever. We love you all.
