Curran-Jones Funeral Home - West Springfield Obituary

Susan E. (Brassard) Fish, 83, died peacefully Wednesday evening surrounded by her loving family.  Susan was born in Springfield the daughter of the late Russell and Helen (Rowan) Brassard. She was a graduate of West Springfield High School and has lived here all her life.  She started her career as a Certified Nurse assistant and more recently had been the receptionist at Landmark at Monastery Heights in West Springfield.  She was an Artist who enjoyed all mediums of art. Susan was an excellent athlete, and really enjoyed playing softball and coaching youth sports. Her other social activities included bowling, dancing, tag sales and enjoyed time at the beach. Also time with family and friends. Her husband Russell Fish died in 2015, and daughter Barbara L. Guarnera-Aubrey died in 2023.  She leaves two daughters, Laura Johnson-Lopez and her husband Daniel Lopez of Chicopee, Suzanne Fish of West Springfield, a son-in-law, Michael Aubrey of West Springfield, a brother, Russ Brassard Sr. of Maine, a sister, Marie Ackley of Florida, five grandchildren, Bethany Savio and her husband Dominic, Autumn Leshinski, Zachary and his wife Danielle Guarnera, Johnathan and Joseph Aubrey and two great grandsons, Lucas and Carter Savio and boyfriend Skip Demerski  Calling hours are Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4-7 at the Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday, 109 Main Street, West Springfield. The funeral will be Saturday at Curran Jones at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com. I'm so sorry "Auntie Susan" has passed. I literally found out today and am very sad I missed expressing my condolences until now. I remember Susan being an amazing lady. She was strong and a matriarch of her family. She always managed to make sure no one was ever forgotten on special occasions. The last time I saw her was at a tag sale in my home town we chatted in passing but, I recall her making me feel so special that I knew her. I will hold that memory close to me always. My...

What a beautiful lady she was! Full of spunk and sass, and enough kindness to take in this lost soul during my troubling teenage years. So sorry I lost touch, but you and your family will forever remain in my heart. God bless!

I just recently learned of Susan`s passing. I sent you my kindest regards of love and light. We were friends for. I lived on Armstrong Street and she on Garden Street in West Springfield me Susan rest in peace BRENDA LANE.

She was a huge inspiration to me. I loved our talks. She will be truly missed. Love her forever
