Not sure what to say?

It's hard to believe it's been 5 years. Susan and I served as commissioners on the Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission for several years, about four of which I served as chair and she as vice-chair because she was simply too busy to chair. I also taught at the law school and worked with her as a Willamette trustee. She befriended me as she did with many, freely sharing her kind, generous, wise and loving soul. I will plant trees in her memory with Plant with Purpose. I know she would like...

It´s hard to believe it´s been two years. Thank you for the reminder. What a special way to remember a very special person. She leaves us with an incredible legacy and good memories.

Susan supported me with employment law for over 10 years. When I changed employers, I took Susan and Stoel Rives with me. She was a very special person. Over the years, we had some social events with Susan and we were so pleased to call her a friend as well as an awesome professional. My husband passed away earlier this year, and they had a mutual admiration for each other. I miss her but I know she left a lasting legacy here in the area. Thank you for this reminder - she was so special.

Dear Hammer family & Lee Kelly: We met a star of a heavenly constellation, to know even a small glimmer of Sue. Our sympathy and love to her brothers, to Lee, and to the memory of her beloved father, Stanley, & her Aunt Mina Hammer Bendick. May the magnetism of Sue's relevance for this young century of progress, be carried out in outstanding work in many fields, for the benefit of humanity, the world over. In loving remembrance, Stephanie & Alan Gordon, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Susie was the most wonderful friend. My heart goes out to all who have loved her and will miss her especially Lee. She was bigger than life in so many beautiful, blessed ways. Look out Universe, here comes a really bright star. Love surrounds you Susie! Happy Trails!

Sue's parents belonged to a pot luck bridge club with my parents. And for several years, when we were youngsters, Mr. & Mrs. Hammer hosted during the summer. It was the only gathering when children were invited. They had a swimming pool and we all had a good time ! Her older brother Tom was a friend I played church league BB and went skiing. Sue was, like her Mom Harriet, full of lively fun but tough enuff by the masculine standards of 3 brothers and Stan, the man, Father. It's apparent from...

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of the beautiful, brilliant Susan. She was a treasure in so many ways. May her memory be for a blessing.

Although I didn’t see her often, we’ve known Susan and Lee for 25 years. I’ve always admired Susan’s drive, wisdom, and commitment. She was beautiful, and very much in her element in large social gatherings. I always enjoyed watching her work a room. When she turned her attention to you, it was like the sun coming from behind a cloud. She had incredible energy. We love her and will miss her.
