Dear Melanie,
Your Mom was a dear friend and a sister of my heart. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. In Heaven, God wipes away every tear. She is on the right side of Heaven and now she sees the Master Weaver's perfect tapistry of our lives. God Bless you in you time of loss.

Dearest Melanie and family:

It is with great sadness that I have learned of your mother's passing. Having been blessed with her friendship since high school, I shall truly miss her. The sound of her laughter, her genuine smile, generous spirit of loving and kindness towards all she knew, and engaging self, will be a wonderful addition to those already dancing in the light. One day, my friend and I will laugh and love once more. Remember always that you were her first...

Dear Melanie,
I worked with your mother at Scripps Hospital. She was so very proud of you. She was a strong hard working leader, a gifted nurse, and compassionate with those suffering from mental illness. She was always kind and caring and a supportive colleague. I am sorry for your painful loss. May your loving memories mend your broken heart.

I was a coworker of Susan's at four different hospitals/clinics. I was always impressed with her calm approach to a crisis. For nineteen years we had rich conversations about our profession. She will be missed by by many, especially those that were touched by her kindness and caring nature.

Sue and I attended Sacred Heart High School. She was a year younger than I, and I remember her fondly as a fun-loving, kind, warm person. I am so very sorry for your loss, and I will keep Sue and you, her family, close in prayer.

In fond remembrance of Susan, please reflect on happy memories of her and share those thoughts with a friend.

Susan was loved by many people. I count myself fortunate to be one of those who knew her and loved her. We have been friends for almost forty years. She was compassionate with an ear to truth. She always looked for the occasion to laugh, and brought us with her. I will miss her wit, insight, stamina and loving friendship. She was a special angel on earth.

Dear Melanie & the Haskins Family,
I was so sad to hear about Susan's passing. I worked with her for nine years at Scripps; she was always so supportive. We lost touch after the unit closed, and I'm sorry we did. I loved the picture you had in the paper...it really captured her, & I can just hear her laugh. We shared an obsession about SNL (Saturday Night Live) & that show still reminds me of her. When I think of Susan, I remember her love of her family, Monty, her little wired-haired...

Dear Melanie,
So sorry to hear about your mother. She was a great mother as I remember from Holy Cross Preschool. May God give you comfort. Love, Audrey Henning

Melanie, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mother. She and I worked together at Scripps La Jolla. I will always remember some of the things we laughed about during our workday. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sue Segovia-Shanley
