Susan Ann Kaufmann

1949 - 2021

Susan Ann Kaufmann passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Christmas morning at the age of 72. She was a native of New Orleans, longtime resident of St. Bernard and St. Tammany parishes. She's survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Allen David Kaufmann, Sr. and her three sons Clint Allen (Jannette), Allen David Jr. (Lili) and Ryan Allen (Cheryl). Susan is preceded in death by her parents Ethyl and Bernard Labourdette, and her three brothers, Bernard Jr., Gerald Joseph and David Peter. She leaves behind five beloved grandchildren Charles Allen, Katherine Olivia, Thomas Allen, Ryan Allen Jr., Reid Ann and one great-granddaughter expected in June 2022. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Susan lived and loved fully and will be dearly missed by her family. Her favorite holiday was Mardi Gras and she would attend parades rain or shine. She was an avid dancer as a child and received her Fifth Year Ring from Labourdette School of Dance. Susan was a member of the first all-girl graduating class of Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette in 1967. She will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her dedicated and loving caregiver, Vicki Tosh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 7th from 11:00am-1:00pm, followed by a Memorial Mass in Susan's memory beginning at 1:00pm.
