Still have your email message from September 5, 2001 --- you had just started your new position with the Port Authority of NY/NJ and wanted to do lunch with me. You sounded so excited. Just can't believe in a couple of months it will be 23 years since your tragic passing. Have spoken to your mom, Carole, on occasion. She will never be the same without you. RIP always

Guenevere: Your message brings back so many fond memories of Susan. Staying with her friend personifies who she was. My heart is sad today but I’m glad for the reminder of what a strong, courageous and loyal friend Susan was. Thank you.

Susan was my mentor at SWE. I was just getting started and would have greatly benefited from her seasoned experience. Women in engineering was no joke back in the day. Long ago I heard that she stayed with her friend who was handicapped on one of the lower floors so that they wouldn´t be alone awaiting rescue. Her character is tough to match. I really hope that scholarship grows, in memory of her indefatigable spirit. Guenevere Dean

Susan had a beautiful smile and a gentle manner. She always gave a helping hand to projects that enriched others' lives. She will be remembered and loved by those of us who were privileged to know her and call her our friend.

I worked with Susan in 98-99. I will always remember her kind and gentle manner as well as her sense of humor. I teased her often but only because I loved her. Rest in peace my friend.
