Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home - Media Obituary

Susan L. Tillman, age 74, a longtime resident of Media, died peacefully at home on March 6, 2022.

Born and raised in Springfield, PA to the late Alton and Annie (nee Weeks) Detwiler, Susan graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1966.  Susan and her beloved husband of 55 years, Monty Tillman, raised their sons in Media.  Susan was a great supporter of Media Little League where she volunteered as an umpire and as the snack bar manager.  She worked as the office manager for Dr. Spitz for 22 years and as a waitress at Rebecca's Kitchen in Booth's Corners.

Always very active, Susan enjoyed camping, bowling, aerobics and traveling, especially cruises.  She looked forward to vacations at the beach house in Lewes, DE and Sunday dinners.  Above all, she treasured time spent with friends and family especially her grandchildren.

Susan was the beloved mother of Monty Tillman, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1989.  She was predeceased by her brother, Danny Detwiler, and sister, Jody Owens.

Susan is survived by her husband, Monty, her son, Casey Tillman (Desiree Sannuti), and her grandchildren Deanna, Christian and Shane Tillman.  She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Cloud, of Washington State.

Friends and family are invited to Susan's Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Monday, March 14th at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, PA 19063.  There will be a visitation from 10 - 11 am.  Burial will follow the service at Media Cemetery.

Not sure what to say?

I met Susan when I moved to Media. She was so kind and welcoming. I'll never forget the warmth of her smile, her quick wit, the sound of her laughter, love of travel and general conversation. She always knew the right things to say to encourage me or make me smile when I needed it most. I sincerely wish I had to opportunity to spend more time with her. Susan was truly a strong and wise matriarch with a beautiful soul, who I will never forget. I know the essence of heart and spirit will...

I met Susan at the Spitz Clinic where we took our daughter. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I have thought of her often since the clinic closed. I know she will be greatly missed. Remember all the wonderful times.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
