"Suzi" and Bernie were neighbors and family friends. Suzi and my mom would take turns calling each other (before cell phones) to warn of another solicitor or door-to-door salesman. I remember walking with Jenny (and my brother Jon) to school each year. Pet-sitting occurred each summer for Shadow (the basset) and a guinea pig named Snowflake.
