Dear Patty,
There is no pain like that of the passing of one's Mom and I send you my very deepest of sympathies. Your Mom was quite a woman. Born and raised on the same dead end street as your family, I know this firsthand. She was like a second Mom to me when I was little. There was the time I was home sick (supposedly) from school with Janet, and my Mom had to go to NYC for work. Your Mom was on-call in case we needed her. Well, I sure did need her after chewing through what I didn't realize was a pack of laxative gum. And there was the time she comforted me through my tears of bashfullness of wearing my first little girl bikini. Such wonderful memories of her, I could literally go on and on... But perhaps most pierced in my memory are those simpler days of summer when she would come over and chill by the pool with my Mom and all of us kids as she drank her beloved ice coffees. I know that she and my Mom will be spending time together in Heaven as they smile down on us. Sending prayers up and hugs to you. Love, Maurie.
