Not sure what to say?

Suzy was like a mother or big sister to me when I started at Meijer, sometimes more than I'd like but always with my best interests at heart. I worked beside her for five years or so and remember her quick wit and warm smile. She made my time there entertaining and fun. I mostly remember her pride in her kids. They meant the world to her and she never missed a chance to brag, deservedly so. We lost touch years ago, but reading others' memories of her makes it clear that she never slowed down...

meijer memories of good times

Sometimes people come into your life in an unexpected way and you realize they should have been there all along! I was HONORED to be Suzy's nurse for many years and loved that she always treated me like I was one of her own! Even though she was my patient, she would bring me a cool rock, or she was ready with a story to tell me, or just greet me with a hug. She always made a point to thank me for being her advocate and i routinely get facebook memory popups from Suzy. I cant imagine this is...

Friend, neighbor, artist, rock painter and hider, Zeeland Historical Society and museum champion, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated loving caregiver to husband, Tom, feeding him twice and putting him to bed every day, lover of Zeeland and Lake Michigan, compliant dialysis patient, hard worker, energetic ---all this and so much more.
We all miss Suzy in our own way.
I miss her unannounced visits to drop off a little surprise or just needing to talk.
Little did I think,...

I met Suzy after I found a donor for the Zeeland museum. She became like a best friend and I can only say I wish I met her decades ago so instead of a few years ago, so I could have enjoyed her much longer than I did. I'm writing this with a heavy heart though, not so much a cheerful one, as our loss here is too great to overcome all at once. Yet, this memorial page will last forever they say, and like the history Lucy loved to bring back to life, the positive and wonderful qualities she...

I met Suzy through my sister Sharon Hendrickson.
We sat together at parades and all three of us had yard sales together. Suzy had a great love for classic movies.
We both enjoyed Bette Davis and Joan Crawford and I am now reading a couple of their biographies that Suzy handed down to me through Sharon.
Suzy was dedicated to daily visits with her husband Tom.
Her absence will be felt by many.
