Swanson Meade

MEADE, Swanson, of Chesterfield, died January 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by parents, Ada Belcher and John Jefferson Meade; son, Kenneth Ray Meade; brothers, Vonley Street, Fred Street and Warner Meade; sisters, May Street, Ruby Gaffin, Earsel Sparks, Gay Gaffin, Estelle Meade and Dolly Meade. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Denida Rosella "Sue" Colegrove; children, Belinda K. Wade (Jimmy) of Ashland, Va., Dennis L. Meade (Jeanette) of Amelia, Va., John A. Meade (Kim) of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Meade of Amelia, Va.; grandchildren, Thomas W. Wade, Sylvia M. McGinnis, Lisa R. Adkins, Amanda R. Stevenson, Samantha A. Meade; great-grandchildren, Rachael Wade, Joshua Wade, Olivia Adkins, Lena Stevenson; sister, Mag Honaker (Albert) of Chesterfield; and brother, Ed Meade (May) of Cincinnati. He was a crane operator for W.O. Grubbs for many years before retiring and was an active member of I.U. of O.E. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 2, and 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 3, at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, where a funeral service will be held 12 noon Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Interment Dale Memorial Park.
