Ahhh, Flink! I called Sly "Flink" as a way to tease her--a combination of "Sly" and "fink" because she would sometimes "tell on" people in our department. It was always something meaningless, but I liked to needle her anyway. I can still hear her giggle about it! I haven't seen Flink since I left the U-T in 1990, but we kept in touch via e-mail and phone. I always sent her a birthday e-mail on May 1, and she always replied the same way: "Thank you, but how did you know?" Every year. Same...
