Not sure what to say?

Dear Siegler Family,
I cannot say enough good about your dear Sylvan. I worked with him on the Lawyers Association of Kansas City Board of Directors and have always been so impressed by his kindness, humbleness, intelligence and giving spirit. (His neckties were always my favorites, too!) I will sorely miss this fine example of what a lawyer and a man should be. You have my deepest sympathies.

Dear Siegler Family,
We were so sad to hear about your loss. My connection to your family is through my long friendship with Jerry which started when we met at the University of Missouri. After some years later our paths crossed again when we both married people from Memphis and settled here. He was then and is now one of the nicest, and most genuine guys I have ever known. I believe this is a true testament to having such good and caring parents. Today especially I think of Mr....

Merna, as I know you are aware, Sylvan gave me and others great support and confidence. He was always most gracious and encouraging to me and my nontax partners. I will miss him and I wish you my condolences upon your loss. Jim Merritt (Sherwood Oregon).

Merna: We were sorry to hear about Sylvan. In addition to his connection through family, he was helpful at various stages of Joel's career, providing thoughtful advice and alway willing to supply a solution to problems that he perceived. Sylvan had the highest reputation in the Tax community. All knew him to be thoughtful, honest, and courteous, which sadly is not always the case with lawyers. His selfless service to the community and the bar was well-known and will not soon be...

Merna,

Sylvan was one of the sweetest and most caring individuals I have ever met. He supported so many and so many wonderful causes. Each year he always brought in cards for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital that the two of you had made. He always had a smile on his face whenever you would encounter him in the halls or the elevators at SHB. He will be missed. I am so sorry I could not make the service. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Myrna and Family,

We "go back a long time", and we share your loss. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Myrna: You know how much I care for you and Sylvan and am so very sad to hear such a wonderful man has left us. Sylvan was one of my biggest supporters (and fans) for which I always felt both honored and blessed.
Sylvan's contributions to the ABA Tax Section will endure forever and there will NEVER be another gentleman of his caliber walking the halls of ABA meetings. I know how much you loved one another and I know how much you will miss him. However, I also know how many beautiful...

Mrs. Siegler, please accept my condolences. Sylvan was an outstanding tax lawyer. He really did give more than he got back. Charley Jensen, Kansas City, MO.

Mrs. Siegler,

Sylvan is someone who always encouraged me during my time at Shook Hardy & Bacon. He was a great man.
