Thank you all for your support and generosity in remembering my Dad. He was a lion with a gentle soul.
His humor was stark and had very little filtering in it...which anyone that knew him found oh so amusing.
The lion has passed, reunited with his beloved son Lance for that man to man handshake and full embrace. I will miss you Dad for your guidance, strength, courage and love. Yet find you even closer to me as you live deeply in my heart.
Your loving daughter~

I got to know Lance at the Air Force Academy. We were two Milwaukee guys and athletes going thru that great program. The Academy named one of the two cadet dorms in Lance's honor. His strength as a prisoner of war remains legendary. I met Marc at one of the art fairs in Miami. My deep condolences to Syl's family and friends. (Roger Zoeller, Washington High..1959. Charlotte NC)

My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Sijan, Marc and Janine on the recent loss of your husband and father. As an Air Force veteran myself (1968-72), I've kept the name Sijan in my thoughts and prayers over the years. I trust my father, a WWII veteran and my mother have already met Mr. Sijan and Lance in heaven and are honored to call them friends. God Bless you all!

Nairobi Trio - Lance, Charlie, Roger
I knew Syl and Jane through Lance, their oldest son. Lance, Charlie Larson and I met standing in line to register for Bay View High School Fra-Soph Football in 1957. After a few years, Syl & Jane moved from the original home to South Shore Drive, across Nock Street from my parent's home, at the top of the hill overlooking South Shore Park & SS Yacht Club. I was standing on the SSYC dock the day Syl gave his run-about too much power and rammed the freshly varnished stern of Dr. Hankwitz's...

I trust I am not the only person to ask Mr. Sijan directions at the Frontier Airlines Center. He allowed me the simple pleasure to laugh at myself.
I'm sorry for your loss.
