My children ( now grown) & I miss you very much, i often reflect on your life lessons.

Sooo sad to hear of dear Sylvia's passing... AMAZINGLY skillful with Reflexology having had many treatments from Sylvia... sooo appreciated her healing knowledge, interesting story telling, creative writing and arts... and dear persona "Martian"... there was so much Sylvia shared with the world and surely continuing from the World Beyond... Sooo grateful for the times we spent together especially one Mother's Day around 2015 or so and a Christmas Day... a beautiful loving giving...

I have Sylvia in my heart and think of her often. Prayers for this great lady.

I just learned that my cherished friend, Sylvia Barker, died. We met in the 70s when I was a starry eyed member of what nowadays might be referred to as a “posse”. I met Sylvia through the Coffee House at Clyde Sanford’s Haiti Arts and Cultural Center on Hudson Avenue. Through two magical years I marveled at Sylvia’s larger than life personality, her mind blowing writing skills, her never ending ability to bring people together. It was in her and Leonard’s living room that our “posse”...

Sylvia was a extremely caring and sharing person, I think of her as a Angel, I never met such a selfless human being. She was a lot of fun to be with, she made you smile in the most dark times. Sylvia rest in Peace. May God always smile on you.

I am sad to hear of the departure of Sylvia, but she had a grand life in many ways. At Unity church in Rochester she contributed her energy in a variety of roles, with enthusiasm and creativity. She was the church librarian for a time, a job she relished. She was well known for her kindness and charitable works helping people in distress from her neighborhood and elsewhere.
I am grateful that I knew her at Unity and I bless her in her ongoing. She rests now from her labors and enjoys...
