Sylvia Ann Barnes, age 73 was born on November 29, 1942 and passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She was a parishioner of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Court 59 Auxillary. Wife of the late Sammie Barnes. Daughter of the late Irma and Dave Knockum, Sr. Mother of Trudy Wallace, Monette Johnson and the late Todd Barnes. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also Priest and Parishioners of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church are invited to attend the Visitation on Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, 2015 Louisiana Avenue from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Providence Memorial Park. To the family.. I am like shock...Mrs.Barnes is gone on home....I am so lost for words...The family has my condolences. I am still grieving to this day on my grandparents....We all must go...just dont know when...

My sincerest condolences to Sylvia's Family. I came to know her as a member of St. Frances de Sales Golden Voices Choir, then the Golden Voices Community Choir. I have been blessed to have known Sylvia. May God's Grace comfort you in your time of bereavement. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
