Sorry to hear about Sylvia's passing. I knew Sylvia when I was a graduate student at MD Anderson 50 years ago. I will always be grateful of all the support and help she extended to me then and cherish the love and kindness she extended to all. May God bless her family.

In the earl 90’s, I worked with Sylvia in Experimental Pathology. Her example and unobtrusive mentoring opened up opportunities for me. She also encouraged me to embrace technology, which I was reluctant to try at the time. Later, it was my ticket to advancement. I learned from her example when speaking about my husband to always preface it with I "I love him to death “ before adding “but”. My condolences to her loving family.
