Not sure what to say?

Farewell Aunt Sylvia,
Growing up I always thought you were Dad's sister, and it was not till when I was much older he explained the connection then when I came to Canada we had a conversation and he told me that you were his favourite cousin. Doing the family tree I realize the connections. My memories of growing up with you and your family are happy memories, especially spending third weekends at your place playing with Judi were fun memories to keep. You were such a supportive person...

Aunt Sylvia, I will surely miss you even though I have been so far away for so long. I always looked forward to your Christmas cards each year, but before that when I lived in Florida I remembered us on some weekends making Bow and other "goodies". It has always been a great feeling doing these things with you because of your lovely demeanor and humor. My condolences to "Grand P" Horace, Albert, Cecelia, Marc, Andrew, Judy and Bridgette. No amount of words can erase the sorrow but I hope...

My Grandma took an interest in everything that I did or liked. I always knew she cared.. She was always there whenever I needed advice. Always there, if I needed someone to talk to, and alleviate my fears. When I messed up, she was there to help... some secrets we kept between just her and I. We spent many good times together, whether it was talking, joking around, cooking (making chili - my fave), baking pies, watching TV, doing jigsaw puzzles, or wordjumble puzzles, she made it special. ...

It's been a pleasure knowing and caring for Mrs. Sylvia Chang. We at Ft. Lauderdale Artificial Kidney Center loved her very much and will miss her. Condolences to Mr. Chang, Bridgette and the rest of her family

Aunt Sylvia showed great strength and composure while she was ailing and it will be one of the many good things that I will remember about her. May she rest in peace.
Our love to Bert, Grand "P", Ces and the rest of the Chang family.
From Bruce, Sonia and the kids.

Sylvia was the matriarch of our family. When Mom died, she took over the role of mother. Then when Dad died she courageously took over his role as father. She kept the family safely together. With her taking care of the other siblings, I was able to go to college abroad knowing that they were in good hands. When I returned from the service, I found that she had done a remarkable job in caring for her brothers and sisters, and she had married a very loving and remarkable man, Horace. ...

When I think of Grandma what comes to mind? Bridge parties and little sandwiches with the ends cut off? Sitting at the kitchen counter on Gouster Ave. watching her fuss over the Roast Pork? Always having her there when coming home from school? Catching lizards with coconut leaves? A love of gardening?Misadventures with cars? These and many more warm memories in some way all relate back to her. Every child should be so lucky growing up.

May God be with your family during this difficult time. Mrs Chang will be deeply missed.
Sincerely,
Penny
