Not sure what to say?

Sylvia was my godmother and a bridesmaid in my mother's wedding. My mother, Helen Morton Gist, died in June.

I'm comforted by the fact that Sylvia, Jay and Mama are at peace now. We don't have to worry about them anymore. They are forever alive in our memories. Jackey Gist

Mrs. Hare was truly invested in the lives of her students from the first day they entered Winchester Elementary to the college application process/college graduation and beyond! She will truly be missed forever and forever etched in the hearts of all of those she encountered. My deepest condolences to the entire family!

Sylvia was a unique, truly dedicated teacher, mother and community activist. She touched thousands of lives in so many was over the years. She was a positive influence on me personally and professionally and any success I've had as an urban educator can be traced directly back to the years I taught at Winchester School with her. May she rest in peace.

There will never be another Mrs. Hare. No one could give so much and ask so little. I do so much wish I could be with family & friends but I am in Ireland. My thoughts are with you. Love, Tom Morrissey, Jr.
