Sylvia Louella Waddell age 77 went Home to rest on August 8, 2018 at her home in the Sprouts Creek section of Rich Valley, VA.


She was the third daughter of William “Bill” & Susie Strouth. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sisters Darlene Shultz and Maxie Anderson & husband Buddy; three brothers Johnny, Wayne, & Ronnie Strouth.


She was a faithful mommy, maw maw, Granny Sylvia, and great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling thru the years along beside her husband who served in the United States Military. She was property manager for their numerous rental properties around Smyth County. Sylvia was a faithful member of the Goodman’s Chapel as well as the Bland Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed quilting, working in her garden, and watching her hummingbirds.


She is survived by her husband of 60years Harold Waddell of the home; two sons Anthony Waddell & Sherry, and Michael Waddell & Rosetta; daughter Michele Wagoner of Troy, VA; faithful sister Shirley Cassell & husband Woody; seven grandchildren, 11 assorted great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other loving family, and her pet companion WuWu.


The family would like to express a special Thanks to all emergency services that helped Mrs. Waddell & the family.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday August 10, 2018 from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ridgedale Cemetery in Rich Valley. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00PM on Friday at the funeral home. All of us here at Jimmy Joe's Appliance mourn with you at the loss of Sylvia. We had worked with her for years when she was taking care of the apartments. Sylvia was always a pleasure to be around. We will certainly miss her.

A wonderful loving and caring woman, Sylvia will be missed. Im so sorry to hear of her passing. Harold you are in my thoughts and prayers.
