Dear Gail and Geoffrey,

I saw your mother's remembrance in the Globe. I have fond memories of her from the time I spent working at the Heller School as an undergraduate. Sylvia wore many hats and one was den mother to the interns like me who were far away from their own families. I think the place would have fallen apart without her.

I remember your lovely house in Cedarwood and the special gate from Brandeis to get there. Your mother was not afraid to express her opinion...
