Sylvia C. Sampson

There will be no funeral services held. Sylvia Christina (Halverson) Sampson, the daughter of Lars and Emillia (Engleson) Sampson, was born September 27, 1909, in Webster City, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 98. On September 26, 1929, Sylvia was united in marriage to Lloyd Sampson. After their wedding the couple lived and farmed in Emmet County. Later they owned and operated the Skyline Ballroom in Estherville. They also owned and operated the Marcon Ballroom in Iowa Falls, Iowa and operated the Central Ballroom in Arnold's Park, Iowa. Left to cherish Sylvia's memory are her daughter, Kay Hill of Estherville; son, Maynard Sampson of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Preceding Sylvia in death were her husband; daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Melvin Loewenberg; grandson, Brian Loewenberg, and her siblings.
