I met Dar a number of times when she would come to hear Lyle play with the Portage Senior Center Band. She was a lovely, gracious lady, and I am sorry to learn of her passing. Sending prayers and sincere condolences to Lyle and the rest of her family and friends.

Miss Hill was my 3rd grade teacher at Pershing School, in Portage, in the early 1960's. She was my all-time favorite teacher throughout my K-12 years. I have so many nice memories of that year. Her mom came to class once and brought maple leaf candies and shared them with our class. She read some of Charlotte's Web every day before recess. I can even remember her nice belted dresses.
