Knew him since 1959 when I joined the Math Dept of PU Chandigarh.
It was impressive to recall how he was popular in the Punjabi culture and developed long term friendships. I stayed at his house for a night in 2000 when they were getting ready to leave for Palo Alto. We were in touch with occasional phone calls. It was in 2012 when I paid him a visit - his health had declined a lot. When I presented him a coy of my first book, Scattered Matherticles, he pulled out a copy of his book that...
