Tadeusz Ryszard “Ted” Musnicki, age 81 of Palm Coast, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 15, 2025, at his home after dealing with recent health complications.

Ted was born on April 3, 1944, in Lublin, Poland to Zygmunt & Irena Musnicki. He graduated from Gdynia Maritime University in 1966 and spent the first part of his working life as a commercial vessel captain in Poland. An entrepreneur at heart, Ted not only had his career as a sea captain, but he was also a real estate pioneer in Canada and later a U.S. Coastguard captain. His love of the water & pleasure boating was among his greatest joys.

Ted married Sherry Legere on July 7, 1992, in Montego Bay, Jamaica and they spent an incredible 38 years together. He is also survived by his son Robert Musnicki (Jessica Abeele), daughter Joanna “Asia” Musnicki, and 8 grandchildren Ashley Musnicki, Christopher Musnicki, Tatyana Decker, Mik Decker, Griffin Decker, Isabella Hayward, Olivia Hayward, Dallas Hayward and niece Iwona Zareba (Tadeusz Zareba). He was preceded in death by his parents, Zygmunt & Irena and brother Jerzy “Jurek” in Poland.

Not sure what to say?

Thinking of You all . Ted and I talked about the Polish food served on Holidays and about different kinds of Boats while living at H1. He loved talking about Wife and making dinner and His Children. Always had a smile on his face , good memories and I’m sure You will have plenty to remember

My deepest condolences to Sherry and the entire Musnicki family!

Ted was one of a kind. He was like a firecracker! Always busy. We enjoyed the many stories he shared with us about his life and adventures. We will miss his ‘hey neighbor’ every day. We know he’s at peace and looking down on us. Rest well my friend.

Knowing "Captain Ted "
was very special and I'll miss him.

Love you Ted. I will miss our conversations about life, the universe and everything. Especially your comedic viewpoints on the human experience. You will be missed. We will drink to you on the Pacific. Szerokiej drogi i pomylnych wiatrów!

As Ted's Hospice nurse it was my pleasure helping him and Sherry through this difficult time. Sherry was an excellent caregiver and I I'm positive Ted is on the other side smiling about his excellent adventure we call life . Life is short . Cherish every day. God bless him and his family. Love them both....

Ted was a fan and friend who made me laugh....john byner
